It All Begins Here!

AquaGO! develops ‘literacy’ in the water. It’s been specially designed for 5-12 year-olds to first feel comfortable and enjoy movement in water, and then to build the skills to take part in aquatic-based activities throughout their lives.

AquaGO! is the nation-wide grassroots foundation program for artistic swimming in Canada and is the launching pad for all other programs delivered by Canada Artistic Swimming. This new program reflects the current science behind long-term athlete development (LTAD) in the sport of artistic swimming, thus focusing on developing aquatic literacy as well as providing an introduction to the sport.

Led by certified instructors, the program is designed to meet the needs of children who will find the content fun to learn while participating in a safe and welcoming environment that incorporates a variety of basic physical and athletic skills in and out of the water. Children may use their new acquired skills to advance further in the sport of artistic swimming or may transfer them to other aquatic and land-based activities.

    Pre-requisites:
    - No previous swimming experience necessary
    - Comfortable entering water
    - Can work safely in a group structure, listen and take directions from coaches

    Sundays 9-10am

    Fees:
    $189/session (+ once/year BCAS/CAS fee $36 and NCASC membership fee $50)

    Session 1: 
    Oct. 18 - Jan. 31 (no class Dec. 20 & 27 - Winter Break) 14 Weeks

    Session 2:
    Feb. 7 - May 23 (no class March 14 & 21 - Spring Break) 14 weeks

    Each session includes performing in the Winter or Spring Watershow.

    This program is operated in partnership with the City of Nanaimo PR&C.  Registration is conducted through the City of Nanaimo.

  • Ages 5-10

    Pre-requisites:
    - Completed AquaGO! Level 1 or Preschool lesson Crab or Olympic Way 1
    - Can work safely in a group structure, listen and take directions from coaches

    Sundays 10-11am

    Fees:
    $189/session (+ once/year BCAS/CAS fee $36 and NCASC membership fee $50)

    Session 1: 
    Oct. 18 - Jan. 31 (no class Dec. 20 & 27 - Winter Break) 14 Weeks

    - Able to swim 25 metres unassisted
    - Can work safely in a group structure, listen and take directions from coaches

    $189/session (+ once/year BCAS/CAS fee $36 and NCASC membership fee $50)

    - Can work safely in a group structure, listen and take directions from coaches
